Supported by BBC Children in Need and Northamptonshire Community Foundation, we’re producing a film with Northamptonshire Fire Service to help with the recruitment of on-call firefighters. We are working with students from The Bee Hive, a Sixth Form vocational centre for students with moderate learning difficulties and ASD needs. They work with a professional film crew to build transferable skills and confidence. Director Paul Mills. DP Stephen Nelson shooting on Red Dragon. Happy to consider all levels of experience, it is improvised, no dialogue, maximum half a day. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with a photo
1. Old man with playing age of 65yrs+ any ethnicity – the character is lonely and isolated, but we see two fire fighters visiting him for a safety check and we see the value of the community work they do.
2. To play a Fire fighter, any gender, 20yrs+ BAME (Black and Minority Ethnic groups) – working with another fire fighter this person visits our isolated old man above, talks him through safety in his home, brighten ups the man’s day and makes him safer. It is a montage rather than a full safety check!! You will be working with a real on call firefighter so you will be guided by them.
3. Male 40yrs+ any ethnicity – this man has been made redundant, he doesn’t know what to do with himself, but then we see he has signed up to be an on call firefighter and we see him giving a talk to a group of primary school children, empowered and excited.
The films will go online so a great little showreel piece!
