At Northampton Film Festival 2022 we launched new ‘television channel’ Screen Northants TV
We’re looking for young people and young adults 11 – 25yrs to help us create programmes for SN TV and also design the next Northampton Film Festival ready for 2023.
SN TV produces an online weekly 30 minute show from our base in Northampton about what’s happening in the Creative Industries and the Northants creative and cultural scene.
We are looking for 11-25yrs residents of Northamptonshire – with priority given to residents of Northampton or those attending educational institutions in Northampton, where we are based – who have an interest in Film or Television who want to work in behind-the-camera roles. There may be some opportunity for presenting on camera but this will be secondary to the writing of shows, content planning, and camera, sound and editing work. Add some volunteering and work experience to your CV!
If you are still at school, the next opportunity to start is on Wednesdays 5pm-7pm from 6th July and we’ll meet weekly. There will also be the opportunity to join during the summer holidays where we’ll offer a session during the day at least twice a week – currently during the day on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
If you’re a young adult there are opportunities to start sooner and have more flexible volunteering, so get in touch.
We’ll work with young people and young adults in separate, age appropriate groups.
Come to a first session as a taster, then if you think it is right for you, we’d like everyone to commit to attending 12 sessions which could be across 3 months or a longer period.
If you’d like to apply please email email@example.com and tell us your name, age, postcode, and what interests you about Film/TV, SN TV or NFF. You can also post an application (or put it under our door) to Screen Northants, next to HMV, 1 Princes Walk, Grosvenor Centre, Northampton, NN1 2EG (don’t forget to include contact details!). BSL videos are also accepted. We will involve as many people who apply as we can who are suitable and can commit the time. We have some staff holiday booked in until 27 June so please be patient but save the dates!
We can help cover bus fare if this might stop you attending, our premises are wheelchair accessible and we can provide BSL interpreters if required – basically we want to make sure there isn’t anything standing in the way of getting you involved so please tell us about any barriers you might face when you apply and we’ll work out the best approach for everyone.
